What's the deal with your old account, forcing you to buy another? If you could at all recover your old account -- adding on the keys to the new campaigns -- if it still has characters on it, you'd probably have a fortune in minis waiting for you. That could easily fund your new adventures.

Do you still have access to any of your old files? You might have character names showing in your Screenshots folder. If not, it might be worth contacting support with "FORGOT CHARACTER NAME" in the subject. You may have to provide some proof of ownership, just to get past some of their security measures, but it could likely help you a lot in the long run.

Got a new computer last year. Didn't keep any guild wars files. I did send an email though to them with most of the account info(sadly didn't have cd keys)

Well, at least the game is cheap enough now that rebuying it isn't such a big deal.
Regarding the original question, I usually suggest trying out every profession for a few hours. You'll have more than one character slot, so why not? Everyone has different reasons for playing and a different playstyle, so just because a certain profession is used extensively for something doesn't mean you'll enjoy playing it. For instance, I hate solo farming, so my assassin has like 1 hour played over 4+ years. I started out with a warrior for my first character. I based my choice on the simple fact that in most games with a fantasy setting, the physical combat class tends to be the most reliable for a new player. But after learning a few necro skills in presearing, I decided that my playstyle was better suited to the necromancer profession. |

Well, I'm sure most people are tired of hearing it but....First toon I made was a warrior (which I played as in most rpg's, Flyff etc.) and hated it, tried Necro and never looked back, best bet is try a few professions and see what fits!

Pvp depends heavily on the build your team is running. If it calls for a specific prof then so be it. |

I ended up making a PvE necro. What would be the suggested sub profession and are the meta builds on pvx.wikia reliable?

I find necro pretty self-contained for standard play. But others might have more suggestions for a specific secondary. Quote:
